Being quite peaceful fish, thorns can still attack relatives or small fish.
Feeding live food: small bloodworms, cyclops, daphnia, tubule. You can also feed chopped dry food.
Maintenance and care
To keep 6-7 fish you will need an aquarium of at least 30 liters. Soil - river sand. Small-leaved plants are best planted with bushes, leaving a place for swimming. Temperature 22-26 ° С. Water should be slightly acidic.
The maturity of the fish is 6-8 months. Spawning grounds need at least 15 liters. Small-leaved plants should not reach 6 cm to the surface of the water, the water layer is 25 cm. The temperature is 3 ° C higher. Female spawns over vegetation. After spawning, the couple is removed to avoid eating fry. Incubation of eggs - up to 30 hours. On day 3, the fry are already swimming. Feeding fry: ciliates, "live dust" and other micro-feeds.
